Role Summary & Purpose

Reporting to the Vice President of Aerospace and Defense (A&D) business unit, you will be responsible for defining and driving the development of existing and next-generation products for A&D Ideal Switch® technology and applications.

You will:

  • be responsible for marketing and program management activities to include product and strategic planning, product definition, product positioning, go-to-market strategy, competitive analysis, marketing communications, and tactical marketing
  • spend time on the front lines with customers and our sales network for business development and be the voice of Menlo Micro’s customers, sharing their feedback and ideas
  • architect solutions to meet our customers’ needs and requirements

Essential Responsibilities

You will work in a fast-paced, innovative team environment, interacting with all functions including product development, sales, operations, and marketing communications.

The essential responsibilities for this position include:

  • Collaborating with key partners, customers, and end users to drive adoption of Ideal Switch integration into products
  • Working with end users and A&D customers to define next generation product requirements and ensure their adoption
  • Creating detailed market and business product plans including Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs), Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), Competition and Return-on-Investment (ROI) analysis for product releases
  • Driving and managing product lifecycles from inception to mass production (feature roadmaps, product roadmaps, pricing)
  • Developing, implementing, and managing plans for product launches including documentation, sales collateral, and presentations.
  • Working with engineering, sales, operations, and customers to ensure that new products lead the market and provide clear system-level differentiation
  • Driving the development and distribution of supporting product documents (briefs, application guides, datasheets, bulletins) as well as website content and thought leadership through tradeshows and publications
  • Positioning products in new and existing market segments; driving efforts for design wins with our sales department
  • Assisting sales to develop a pipeline for future sales activity
  • Being responsible for annual sales targets, market growth, and margin
  • Building and maintaining strong business relationships with customers to drive/increase sales and ensure an exceptional customer experience by solving customer challenges
  • Developing and implementing communication plans for customers, sales, and investors to create value and address competitive positions
  • Researching and analyzing market opportunities, trends, and competitive pressures to create, develop, and execute appropriate product management strategies and roadmap
  • Attract, manage, retain, and develop talent as the business grows
  • Travel as necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

This role requires a strong mix of technical and business skills as you work with our sales team and customers to define and deploy disruptive products to the market.

To be a good fit for the position, you will have:

  • Strong systems and component-level understanding of A&D marketplace, customers, and applications for both RF and DC solutions
  • Experience with customers and applications of DoD applications, goals, and execution
  • Experience collaborating with customers in one or more of the following markets: military/defense, EW, missiles and guided munitions, military and public safety radios, switched filters, switch matrices, beam formers, and power control applications
  • The ability to understand a customer’s needs and translate those into products with appropriate tradeoffs
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to sell product concepts and technologies internally and externally with a passion for technology
  • Successfully have led product management and product planning strategies and initiatives, developed product roadmaps, and taken products from inception to commercialization
  • Past success influencing opinions and actions of key stakeholders within their organization, customers, and partners
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including market research and data gathering, ability to think / conceptualize independently and creatively, strength in building and analyzing complex financial models, and excellent business judgment and ability to synthesize, analyze and extract implications
  • Support the presentation and strategy for Menlo Micro and A&D at trade shows
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, including experience creating and making highly effective presentations to senior management
  • Strong organizational, project management, and execution skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize in a demanding environment and work effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in a global environment interfacing with a variety of cultures and languages
  • High-performance orientation, commitment to continuous improvement, and strategic capability and willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field + 10 years of experience, or MS + 8 years of experience; MBA preferred.
